How to Cancel Your Subscription

Self-Service Cancellation (Recommended):

Log into your ShadowCMO account

Navigate to Settings → Billing

Click "Manage Subscription" (opens Stripe Customer Portal)

Select "Cancel Plan" and confirm

Alternative method: Email support@shadowcmo.com with "Cancel Subscription" in the subject line, and we'll process your request within 24 hours.

When Does Cancellation Take Effect?

Your cancellation timing depends on your billing cycle:

  • Monthly subscriptions: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain full access until then.
  • Annual subscriptions: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your 12-month term. No partial refunds for unused months (see our Refund Policy for exceptions).
⏰ Example: If you cancel on January 15th and your billing date is January 25th, you'll have access until January 25th. No new charges will occur after that date.

What Happens After Cancellation?

Once your subscription ends:

  • Immediate effect: You will no longer be charged
  • Access retention: You retain full access until the end of your paid period
  • Campaign data: Your campaigns remain accessible for 30 days after cancellation for download purposes
  • Data deletion: After 30 days, all campaign data, generated assets, and account information will be permanently deleted in compliance with GDPR

Reactivating Your Account

Changed your mind? You can reactivate your subscription anytime:

  • Within 30 days: Reactivate through your account settings. Your campaigns and data will be fully restored.
  • After 30 days: You can create a new subscription, but previous campaign data will not be recoverable (due to GDPR data retention policies).

Overage Charges After Cancellation

If you have outstanding usage-based charges (video generations, enrichments beyond quota):

  • Final invoice will be issued at the end of your billing period
  • Payment is due within 7 days of invoice date
  • Unpaid balances may affect your ability to reactivate in the future

Downgrading Instead of Canceling

Not ready to cancel completely? Consider downgrading to a lower-tier plan instead:

  • Retain access to the platform at a reduced cost
  • Keep your campaign history and brand assets
  • Upgrade again anytime without data loss

To downgrade, visit Settings → Billing → Change Plan or contact our support team.
